What is code 22?

Code 22 is a code of honor for all humanity.

Each 22nd day is officially proclaimed the City Wide Day of Peace and healing in Detroit and 9 cities in the surrounding areas. A total of 10 City Councils and Mayors have officially adopted the 22nd by way of proclamations testimony of resolutions. Each citizen is asked to honor the code by intentionally promoting peace in their circles of influence each 22nd. Honoring code 22 means a day to eliminate all negative emotions including unforgiveness, and intentionally allowing peace to flow through each individual for 1 day. Those engaged in violence are asked to stop the violence and honor the code for at least 1 day. The goal is a no violence day across America, a day for peace and healing in each life through honoring the code.

Each 22nd day since October 2010 the UCOA has focused on creating peace with a special focus on those who have been victims of violence. Each month families are invited and gathered to an event, The City Wide Night of Peace and Healing) that helps citizens turn their pain into power through practicing forgiveness, and the discipline of making positive changes.

Code 22 is a method of approach that calls everyone to an awareness of  peace which can enhance lives.
We are proud to launch this nationwide initiative from Detroit.  Our city is a great city filled with great people doing great things.  Just as Motown was to music, and Henry Ford is to the auto industry so is Code 22, a positive attainable initiative creating positive results for all humanity.

We have successfully attained 10 Proclamations and Testimonies of Resolution including the support of our Detroit Mayor, Mike Duggan and city council. We also have support from our Chief of Police, James Craig, and Wayne County Sheriff, Benny Napoleon, UAW Vice President, Rory Gamble, many local churches, community organizations, including crimestoppers of Michigan declaring each 22ndas an Official No Violence day in Detroit and surrounding cities.

Will you honor the code? Will you share with those in your circle of influence the idea to take 1 day to promote peace and healing? Will you unite your family on the 22nd to work towards family conflict resolution towards peace and healing? We ask that each person would partner by circling the 22nd on your calendar monthly and honor the code.

If you agree to work to increase peace using code 22, you may comment below. We would love to hear your thoughts and plans for the 22nd.

If you would like to become a volunteer for the UCOA, please fill out the volunteer application and submit.

Sincerely;

Pastor Ovella
